1. Who We Are
KidFUNd$ (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a financial education and tracking platform for families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use KidFUNd$.
2. Who This Applies To
- Parents/Guardians: Adults who create and manage family accounts.
- Children: Child profiles created and controlled by a Parent.
- Visitors: People who view KidFUNd$ pages without logging in.
3. What Information We Collect
3.1 Account information (Parents)
- Name (optional) and email address
- Login credentials (password is stored in a protected form, not in plain text)
- Account settings (e.g., allocation percentages and locks)
3.2 Child profile information
- Child nickname (recommended instead of full legal name)
- Age range or birth year (optional, if you choose to provide it)
- Virtual balances and activity (allowance entries, goals, bucket allocations)
- Gift card tracking data (brand and balances) without storing gift card codes/PINs
- Charity preferences (e.g., suggested giving percentage)
3.3 Usage data
We may collect basic usage data to keep the service secure and improve performance, such as: IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
3.4 No advertising or affiliate tracking
KidFUNd$ does not use affiliate links or advertising, and we do not track ad clicks.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate KidFUNd$ features (virtual money tracking, goals, charts)
- To secure accounts and prevent fraud/abuse
- To provide Parent controls (locks, approvals, settings)
- To improve the service (performance, reliability, usability)
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell children’s personal information.
We may share information in limited cases:
- Service providers: hosting, analytics, error monitoring (only as needed to operate KidFUNd$)
- Legal compliance: if required by law or to protect users and the service
6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Focus)
KidFUNd$ is designed for family use with Parent control. If we collect personal information from children, we do so to provide core features (like displaying a child nickname and tracking virtual balances).
- Parents create and manage child profiles.
- We recommend using nicknames instead of full legal names.
- Children are not shown ads or purchase links.
- We do not knowingly allow children to publicly share personal information on KidFUNd$.

7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Parents may request deletion of accounts and associated data.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including access controls and secure password handling. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

- Adjust child settings and permissions
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of information
- Opt out of non-essential communications (if any)
10. Third-Party Links
KidFUNd$ may link to third-party websites (e.g., charity websites from donations.json).
Those sites have their own privacy practices. We encourage Parents to review them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
